University of South Wales students launch their TV show featuring the Immersed music festival tomorrow (Thursday 19th March) and it will be live-streamed on YouTube at 7pm.

The Immersed festival, in March, was entirely run by the creative students from a number of courses at USW. This year the headlining band were CVC, with other performances including The Depth, Meatdress, Dresscode and Kickthings.
But if you’ve missed the live event, don’t worry, Immersed TV brings together all the highlights and more!
This year it promises to be a magical programme. Every year Immersed has a theme – and for 2026 it’s “believe in magic” – something the students also addressed in all their TV content.

Second year Media Production student Morgan Taylor said: “Immersed TV is important and it shines a light on all the creative output which comes from music festivals, not just the music itself.
“There’ve been hundreds of students working on this. For us it’s a chance to get experience in a wide variety of skills including directing, producing, editing, camera and sound work, vision mixing, social media, content creation and presenting – all connected to a live event.”

Singer/songwriter Ingret from Ukraine was also among the Immersed performers. Students Mia Pitman and Carson Santoso had the chance to interview her.
“It was fascinating to hear how the war in Ukraine has changed the music scene. Ingret told us about the renewed interest in Ukrainian culture and how they’d eradicated Russian culture,” said Carson.

Giving young performers a platform is important for the organisers of Immersed. The festival works with charity Sound Progression to offer opportunities – and often a first gig – for up-and-coming musicians.
“I got to chat to some of the young bands and they really value the exposure,” said student Darren Hann. “The Immersed Festival is an exciting multi-stage event and it’s a great place for them to start.”
Immersed teams up with Music Declares Emergency to ensure the festival is as sustainable as possible, which includes thinking about how people travel to the venue – The Tramshed.

“It was really interesting to work out how to fit sustainability within the theme of magic. So instead we took a different route and did a spin on the BBC show Race Across the World, where we raced from Penarth to the Tramshed using various modes of transport, comparing time taken, price and impact on the environment,” said Morgan.
“Somehow, someway I won the whole thing on my bike!”
Believing in Magic is woven through all of Immersed TV this year. In her interview Ingret said: “Magic for me is probably all of my life and I think that all of life is simply woven from magic. I really believe in it, I use it. Of course, the good type. For me, it’s my whole life.”
Immersed TV 2026 will be available here from 7pm on 19th March 2026.
